NIMS Medicity as in the field of health service, is an unavoidable presence in other activities regarding social welfare. NIMS medicity has adopted two villages in rural areas, Thirupuram and Ooruttambalam. The health and living standards of the people in these villages are monitored by NIMS Medicity. To the students in these areas NIMS medicity provide educational accessories and allied facilities. Students who are in higher secondary are being sponsored by NIMS Medicity.
Apart from the campus mentioned earlier which are conducted under the Heart 2 Heart project, various other projects are conducted by NIMS medicity, in association with Kudumbasree unit, various Govt. agencies, Municipalities, grama panchayats etc., through which a lot of people enjoy, free checkups and treatments.
NIMS has conducted 180 camps styled as “NIMS Arogyamela”. Where drugs were distributed freely and awareness seminars conducted.
NIMS Medicity is celebrating the World Heart Day – 2009 for the whole month of September and various programmes and projects have been initiated to be launched on the occasion.
NIMS Medicity has joined hands with Varkala municipality to conduct a survey to collect data regarding the chronic diseases like cardiac problems, nephro problems, diabetic etc. which now is spreading like epidemic. The probe in to the lifestyles of the people and living conditions will pave the light to the real problem affecting the society. This is the first initiative of NIMS in adopting municipalities. |
